Once again a media story has gone viral causing tons of emotional reactions which has lead to illogical thoughts. You have some boycotting Nike because of someone they choose to have endorse their product, even though that person has been on their payroll for years. Then you have others mad that some are boycotting Nike because they endorse a certain person. Meanwhile you have a large corporation profiting from all of it. A corporation that has such a stronghold influence on western culture clothing that it is hard to escape their products. A corporation that on one end will have someone market their apparel who is against social injustice and oppression, while at the same time offer below average living wages for their workers overseas in their factories. They irony and hypocrisy of it all is amusing. And more funny is the hypocrisy of myself knowing this and I still have Nike shoes in my closet as I type this blog. This sums up the reality of the society we live in.
